Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

Giuseppe Giusti is the longest-running and most prestigious balsamic vinegar producer in the world (since 1605!)

Balsamic Vinegars are made according to the traditional tools and techniques of the ancient art of the Giusti family.

Modena is a city in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, and it becomes clear why, in particular, this region became the centre of a vinegar culture that turns decent vinegar varieties into outstanding ones.

On the one hand, the region offers good climatic conditions: alternating hot summers and cold winters put the vinegar bacteria into maximum productivity.

On the other hand, the grapes that grow around Modena are perfect for producing vinegar.

It is made from nothing else but grape must, thickened by prolonged boiling down. It matures for many years in barrels made of oak, mulberry, chestnut, cherry, juniper, and ash wood, becoming more concentrated and absorbing aroma from the different woods.

Balsamic vinegar is a great sweet and sour condiment that can be used for salads, cheeses, and meats as well as on vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit.

Balsamic vinegar enhances the flavor of the dish without adding sugar or salt to the meal, and is often used to aid in digestion and reduce the risk of heart disease and other diseases.
